When necessary call a qualified electrician to troubleshoot and repair the defective electrical circuit. 1.0 METER FUNCTIONS 3 2 1 SPECIFICATIONS: Operating Range: adjustable from 12-1000 VAC, 50-60 Hz; CAT III 1000V/CAT IV 600V Indicators: Visual and Audible Operating Environment: 32° - 104° F (0 - 32° C) ; 80% RH max., 50% RH above 30° C Altitude up to 2000 meters. In no event Sperry Instruments be liable for incidental or consequential damage. 7 5 4 Before use test the battery by pressing the power button (#7) on the top side of the tester. If the battery is good then the light will flash and speaker will chirp momentarily. If indicators do not function then replace the battery. This unit operates from 1 AAA battery. To replace the battery, slide the pocket clip (#6) up as indicated with the arrow on the side of the pocket clip. Insert a new battery and slide the pocket clp back into place. To test for voltage - Press the power button to turn on the tester. This will also turn on the LED flashlight. The tester and flashlight will remain on until the power button is pressed again. This unit has an adjustable dial on the top of the unit. To increase the sensitivity rotate the dial counter clockwise. Increasing the sensitivity increases the detection range of standard 120 VAC circuits. See Fig. 1 - Place sensor on or near the wire, device or circuit to be tested. If AC Voltage between 12-1000 VAC is present the red LED and flashlight will flash and the speaker will beep continuously.
